AN ADDRESS DELIVERED BY HER EXCELLENCY, BARR. CHIOMA UZODIMMA, AT THE APRIL 2021 PRAYER SUMMIT, ORGANIZED BY THE OFFICE OF THE WIFE OF THE GOVERNOR, IMO STATE IN COLLABORATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS & VULNERABLE GROUPS, IMO STATE ON APRIL 17, 2021
All protocols, duly observed.
I welcome us all to this very important prayer summit. Our gathering today is to pray for our dear State - the Governor, government, the people and the Nation at large. We have come to seek the face of God, our Father, for His intervention in all that ail us.
We draw strength from 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Furthermore, the book of Jeremiah 29:13-14, assures us of God's presence whenever we yearn for it, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
I challenge our women to continue to pray and offer supplications to God for a peaceful and united Imo. Women are great and powerful tools in the hand of God as home makers. When women pray, heaven responds.
I charge us also with the book of James 2:26, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also", therefore I urge us to be more patriotic; the elites, political class and the masses alike, with our actions and inactions.
Once again, I welcome us all to this prayer summit and may God Almighty hearken to our prayers and heartaches. Amen.
H.E. Barr. Chioma Uzodimma First Lady, Imo State
