At the ongoing 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women #CSW69 in New York, USA, I joined activists and policymakers at a high-level event hosted on March 13, 2025, by the EU Group of Friends and UN Women on the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls: Beijing +30: Driving Accountability to End Violence Against Women and Girls.
Dr. Kemi DaSilva-Ibru, Founder of the WARIF - Women at Risk International Foundation, participated in a panel discussion alongside global leaders and member States, addressing challenges faced by frontline service providers and women's rights organizations. She emphasized the need for bold investments and sustainable funding for organizations like WARIF, highlighting research that identifies them as the most critical factor in ending large-scale violence against women. Notable attendees included UN Executive Director Sima Bahous, HE Hadja Lahbib, the Commissioner for Equality, representatives of member States, and other distinguished guests.
