It was an honour to be conferred with a Doctoral Degree (Honoris Causa) in Public Administration by Hezekiah University, Umudi; the first private university in Imo State, on March 8, 2025. Receiving this award on International Women’s Day made it even more special, and I dedicate it to the women of Imo, whose collective achievements far surpass my modest contributions.
This honorary doctorate is not mine alone; it belongs to every woman who has dared to challenge societal limitations, to every young girl told that her dreams are too ambitious, and to everyone who believes in the transformative power of education and service. My journey has never been solitary; it has been shaped by the sacrifices of those who came before me, the courage of women who fought to amplify our voices, and the resilience of those who continue to advocate for equitable representation while uplifting others as they rise.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Senate, Board of Trustees, and Council of Hezekiah University, led by the Chancellor, His Grace, Most Rev. Prof. Hezekiah, OON, JP, for this esteemed honour. I also express my deep appreciation to my beloved husband and the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Dist. Sen. (Dr.) Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSRS, whose support and encouragement have empowered me to serve, to dream, and to drive meaningful change.
