Today, I joined my sisters, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) State Coordinators for the 1st Quarter High-Level Meeting with the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, at the First Lady’s Conference Room, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

During the meeting, the First Lady and National Coordinator of RHI, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, highlighted some of the initiative’s achievements over the past two years. She noted the significant impact made in various areas, including the empowerment of women farmers, the provision of scholarships for indigent students, and the distribution of professional kits to midwives in the North Central and North West geopolitical zones. Additionally, she emphasized RHI's role in supporting disaster victims across the country through relief materials and financial aid. The initiative has also provided ICT training for women nationwide, facilitated the building of Alternative High Schools for Girls, and actively supported the elderly while ensuring food assistance for vulnerable groups.

Several new initiatives aimed at empowering women, enhancing environmental sustainability, and supporting vulnerable communities nationwide were also discussed. Key programs to be executed under RHI include the "Flow with Confidence" Initiative, which will ensure the distribution of 10,000 cartons of disposable sanitary pads to girls in each state and the FCT, allowing them to stay in school during their menstrual cycles. The Environmental Sustainability Program will establish climate change clubs in secondary schools and tertiary institutions, encouraging student participation in climate action and waste management. The ultimate goal is to set up a recycling plant in each state to help reduce plastic pollution. Additionally, RHI will provide ₦200,000 grants to 250 persons with disabilities in each state to help recapitalize their existing businesses.
