Earlier today, in my office, I hosted delegates from the Imo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency-ISPHCDA, the World Health Organization Nigeria, UNICEF Nigeria, and Nestlé Nigeria PLC to discuss their activities in the State. During our discussions, we reviewed upcoming health programs for the year and strategies for effective implementation. Key topics included measles vaccination, the continuation of the HPV vaccine, tuberculosis prevention and awareness, and the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Week.

Rev. Sr. Dr. Maria Joanes Uzoma, Executive Secretary of ISPHCDA, expressed appreciation for my office’s support in their various programs, particularly in facilitating access to counterpart funding for the agency.

Dr. Uchenna Odom, Director of Disease Control at ISPHCDA, commended my office for its contributions to their national-level achievements. He also raised concerns about measles in the state and appealed for support, especially from the Nigeria Governors' Spouses Forum.

Representing the WHO State Coordinator, Dr. Adeniyi Adeniran emphasized the need to launch a task force to enhance their operations and called for increased awareness of the importance of vaccination.

Mrs. Onyinyechi Asiegbu, a medical delegate from Nestlé Nigeria PLC, appreciated my office’s support and outlined the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives in the State.

At the core of our discussions, I welcomed the delegates, expressed gratitude for their visit and efforts, and reaffirmed my office’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance public health and well-being.
