My husband, Governor Hope Uzodimma, in his role as Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum, and I joined Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his wife, H.E. Amb. Prof. Olufolake AbdulRazaq, who also chairs the Nigeria Governors' Spouses Forum, to welcome the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, along with First Ladies from various states, for the commissioning of projects in Kwara State. Also present were the wife of the Vice President, H.E. Hajiya Nana Shettima, and other distinguished guests who came to support this impactful initiative.

During the visit, the First Lady inaugurated the Amina Ndalolo Community ICT Centre at the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin. This project, established by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA Nigeria) in partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), is part of efforts to promote digital skills and economic empowerment. Focusing on the importance of ICT, the First Lady noted that digital knowledge helps communities, especially women, to overcome barriers, improve their education, become self-reliant, and participate in the global economy. This ICT Centre is one of four built by NITDA, with others in Bauchi, Benue, and Oyo States, as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to boost economic growth through digitalization. Additionally, Digital Economy Centres in five states; Jigawa, Ebonyi, Cross River, Oyo, and Niger, as well as the FCT, have been equipped with computers and ICT tools, with ten more centres nearing completion.

As part of the RHI Economic Empowerment initiative, the First Lady made a donation of food items to vulnerable groups and also presented a ₦50 million grant to the wife of the Kwara State Governor for distribution to 1,000 women petty traders, each receiving ₦50,000 to support their businesses. She outlined the impact of such programs, stating that they provide opportunities for women to improve their livelihoods and contribute to their families' well-being.
