Today, we gathered at the Imo State Government House Chapel for a Mass in preparation for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day. We reflected on the great sacrifices made by the brave men and women in uniform who served our Nation. In the gospel reading, we heard God's voice declaring Jesus as His beloved Son, saying, "You are my beloved Son; with you, I am well pleased." Just as God expressed His love and pride in Jesus, we as a Nation express our deep gratitude and pride for our fallen heroes. Their sacrifices have brought us peace, security, and freedom. May their memory inspire us to work for a better and more peaceful society. As we honour their memory, we are reminded that their sacrifices were not in vain. May God bless and protect our armed forces and help us always remember the price they pay for our freedom and safety.
