We held our monthly meeting under the aegis of the Nigerian Governors' Wives Against Gender-Based Violence (NGWA - GBV). This forum, of course, consists of the wives of the Governors of the 36 Nigerian States.
Under this umbrella, we have availed ourselves the needed platform to continually deepen conversations, plans and actions around the issues of rape and other forms of gender-based violence (GBV).
For the month of March, we convened yesterday, March 28, via Zoom Conferencing to review progress so far by fielding responses from member units.
We looked at new developments in the various States as regards GBV and matters affecting women generally. Members presented their reports on successes, challenges and reviewed action plans going forward.
It is expected that through these regular interfaces, we are better synergized to collectively tackle the problems under discourse, with better insights from others.
