I had the honour of representing Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the First Lady of Nigeria, at the 2nd edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme (RHIESS) in Imo State, an initiative aimed at supporting the welfare of the elderly during this festive season. The event, themed "Total Wellness: Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Lifestyle," took place at the Imo State Government House, Owerri, on December 19, 2024. During the ceremony, 250 beneficiaries each received ₦200,000 (two hundred thousand naira) grants.

In her address, the First Lady congratulated the senior citizen beneficiaries and urged them to prioritize their health while enjoying the festive season celebrations. In addition to the First Lady's social intervention, my office provided free medical checkups and other medical assistance to the elderly citizens, and also extended a N100,000 (one hundred thousand naira) support grant to 100 widows from all 27 Local Government Areas to help alleviate their plight.
