World AIDS Day, observed every year on December 1, aims to raise awareness, foster education, and champion the rights of individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
The 2024 theme, "Take the right path: My health, my right!", emphasizes ensuring access to quality healthcare and eliminating stigma.
HIV/AIDS remains a global health issue, but advancements in treatment and prevention have made it manageable. However, stigma, discrimination, and inequality continue to hinder progress. Universal access to testing, treatment, and prevention is vital to uphold the right to health for all. Early diagnosis and consistent treatment allow people with HIV to live long, healthy lives. Together, we can end HIV/AIDS as a public health threat and create a future of dignity, equality, and respect.
