I was honoured to witness the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, launch the distribution of 45,000 uLesson tablets to primary and secondary schools across nine Niger Delta States on November 9, 2024 in Abuja. This impactful initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and further Sustainable Development Goal 4, promoting quality and inclusive education for all.

In partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), this program is in line with the Federal Government's Digital Policy, working to build a robust digital learning ecosystem. Each tablet, tailored to Nigeria’s curriculum, includes an offline video library, parental controls, and an 18-hour battery to support students in learning at their own pace and complementing classroom instruction.

“Education is key to unlocking potential and shaping futures,” stated H.E. Senator Oluremi Tinubu, encouraging students to take full advantage of this opportunity. Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of NDDC highlighted that this is just the first phase, with additional resources planned to ensure educational equity. Furthermore, the NDDC has engaged a consultant to train teachers on the effective use of these tablets, maximizing their impact on students' learning outcomes and preparing them for a competitive digital world.
