11 OCTOBER 2024

The International Day of the Girl Child, observed every October 11th, is a moment to highlight the rights of girls and the important roles they play in shaping their future. This year's theme, "Girls' Vision for the Future," calls attention to the potential of girls in creating a more equitable society. In Imo State, we recognize the unique talents, dreams, and aspirations of our girls. Through collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and other key partners, we have made strides in addressing issues like Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), sexual and gender-based violence, trafficking, and limited educational opportunities. By raising awareness and creating pathways for success, we are empowering girls to reach their full potential. Today, we celebrate the achievements of girls across Imo State, and we renew our commitment to advocating for their rights. By doing so, we can build a future where all girls have the freedom to dream, learn, and lead. #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild #GirlsVisionForTheFuture
