At the first phase of the 2024 Owerri Archdiocesan Catholic Women Organization (OACWO) Annual Seminar, held on October 4th at Villa Maria Guest House, Wetheral Road, Owerri, I emphasized the sacred nature of motherhood as a divine calling that should be embraced with joy and gratitude. This vocation requires dedication, love, and sacrifice.
Represented by Mrs. Ijeoma Nduka, wife of the Former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, I delivered a paper titled "Motherhood: A Sacred and Supreme Vocation," highlighting the critical role mothers play in shaping society by nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual development of children, while instilling values and morality.
The seminar also featured other esteemed guest speakers, including Rev. Fr. Dr. Gerald Njoku, who addressed 'The Nigerian Present Economic Situation: A Challenge to Motherhood,' and Dr. Mrs. Pat Ekennia. Among the notable attendees were Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Charles E. Ikwuegbu, Chaplain of the OACWO, Rev. Sister Miriam-Petus Ezeonye, OACWO Sister Adviser, His Worship Dame Naomi Joshua Achunulo, President of OACWO, Professor Mrs. Obiageli A. Nnamocha, Secretary of OACWO, and other distinguished guests.
