In the company of Hon. Nkechinyere Ugwu UNJP, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, and Hon. Chinyere Emeziem, Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, I paid a solemn visit to the family of the late Coach Christian Obi at their residence in Owerri to offer our heartfelt condolences on the passing of the former Heartland FC coach.
During the visit on October 2, 2024, we reflected on Coach Obi’s profound influence on his family, friends, and the wider football community. His passion for football, especially his dedication to Heartland FC, was evident in his leadership and his commitment to nurturing future generations of footballers.
In extending my deepest sympathies to his beloved wife, Mrs. Ejimofor Ify Obi, who also serves as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader in Oru West LGA of Imo State, and the rest of the Obi family, I signed the condolence register. I prayed that they find strength and solace during this difficult time, and that Coach Obi's enduring legacy continues to inspire and uplift all who knew him.
