I attended the unveiling of the #OneNigeriaUnityFabric, hosted by Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of Nigeria on September 16, 2024. The event brought together former First Ladies, wives of State Governors, and other distinguished guests to showcase the winning design of Miss Bamidele Mofiyinfoluwa, a 25-year-old University of Ibadan graduate. Her design, selected among the 111 entries submitted from a national competition organized by the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), earned her a N25 million prize and was chosen for its exemplary representation of Nigeria's unity and cultural diversity.

A distinguished panel of judges, including fashion icon Princess Zainab Abba Folawiyo and international textile designer Banke Kuku, selected the winning design. I was honoured to participate in the runway showcase alongside my son, wearing the #OneNigeriaUnityFabric.

This initiative aims to stimulate the textile industry, create jobs, and boost the economy through mass production by local manufacturers. The fabric will make its debut on October 1st during Nigeria's Independence Day celebrations, serving as a symbol of national unity and solidarity.
