On the sidelines of the flagoff of the administration of the COVID-19 vaccines in Imo State, yesterday, Friday, March, 12, 2021 was the Commissioning of the permanent office of the Imo State Primary HealthCare Development Agency (ISPHCDA).

The centre is located along Umuguma Road, New Owerri.

Primary health care (PHC) is very important because it addresses the health needs of people. It is people-centred rather than disease-centred. PHC approach centres on health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care.

This Centre will enhance proper administration of primary healthcare in the State, including the Covid-19 vaccination.

I appreciate my husband, the Governor, for his efforts at sustaining the Primary Health Care Sector in the State through the provision of official vehicles, ambulances, manpower and other amenities needed for the smooth running of the agency.

Imo is on a steady rise and I am glad to be a witness to the success story.
