Earlier today, I had the honour of joining the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja for the "Celebrating the Mothers of Our Nation" event, commemorating the first anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

Themed "Looking Ahead," the event featured the First Lady's address on the vital role women play in preserving cultural values and nurturing future generations. She highlighted the risk of Nigerian children losing their cultural identity if proactive measures are not taken. She urged women to unite, support their communities, and draw inspiration from pioneering women who have paved the way.

In her words, "When mothers stand with you, the house is in order. Let's build on the legacies of those who came before us." She also called for prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nation, striving for a "promised land" of prosperity.

The event featured insightful advice from other prominent women, including the Vice President's wife, Her Excellency Hajia Nana Shettima, and Her Excellency Mrs. Victoria Gowon, who stressed the importance of unity among women as a crucial step towards achieving a female president. Former First Lady, Her Excellency Dame Patience Jonathan, and Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Nike Akande CON, praised the initiative and called for continued support for President Tinubu's administration. Also in attendance were State Governors' wives, Ministers, wives of Government functionaries, among other dignitaries.
