On Monday, May 13, 2024, I joined fellow State Governors' Wives at the launch of the 'We Are Equal Campaign' at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja. This initiative, led by the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), aims to promote inclusive education, skill development, and gender equity across the continent. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR officially inaugurated the campaign, which is being implemented in 15 African countries with a focus on health, education, economic empowerment, and gender-based violence. In Nigeria, the campaign is titled 'Education as a Powerful Tool for Change', led by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON.

During her address, the First Lady emphasized the importance of gender equity in education. She noted that the concept of alternative high schools originated during her tenure as the First Lady of Lagos State and continues to be supported by the Lagos State Government.

On March 12, 2024, she inaugurated an alternative high school for girls in Bauchi State, underscoring that no girl should be deprived of education due to past mistakes. She also attended the Sod-Turning Ceremony for a new Alternative High School for Girls in Osogbo, Osun State, on April 23, 2024.

Her Excellency recognized that girls may drop out of school due to early marriage, pregnancy, financial difficulties, or trafficking. The Alternative High School for Girls provides an opportunity for these girls to continue their education. She announced plans to establish similar schools across the country, offering a pathway for girls to complete their secondary education. #WeAreEqual
