My colleagues and I- The First Ladies of various states of Nigeria under the forum of the Nigerian Governors' Wives Against Gender-based Violence (NGWA-GBV) joined a webinar alongside outstanding resource persons to tackle Gender-based violence on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

It was an enlightenment and capacity-building webinar session on understanding the various States' GBV coordinating mechanisms and charting the way forward.

The speakers were: Hon. Wale Fapounda (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekiti State, Prof. Joy Ezeilo (Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria Nsukka and Founder of WACOL, Enugu), Hauwa Shekarau (Chairperson, Nigerian Bar Association Abuja), and the moderator - Dr Abiola Akiode (University of Lagos and Executive Director WARDC).

Among other notable discussions, emphasis was made to continually support and sanitize our society of rape and other forms of gender-based violence until eradication is achieved.
