During our visit to Okwudor Secondary Technical School, Okwudor and as part of the 16 days of Activism against GBV Campaign, on December 1, 2023, we had the opportunity to emphasize the importance of cultivating a violence-free environment for future generations.

The Honourable Commissioner for WAVG, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, who was my representative, addressed the students, urging them to reject all forms of violence and foster a future defined by equality, love, and peace. The students received valuable guidance from Child Rights advocate, Mr. Samuel Obizuo, who cautioned them against potential dangers and adviced them against any involvement in cultism, alcohol, and drugs. By highlighting the various forms of violence, he encouraged the students to stand firm and speak out against abuse.

The Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Mr. Godson Okeoma, and Director of Women Affairs, Dr. (Mrs.) Blessing Azubuike also echoed the association’s commitment to the vision. The students actively participated during the awareness thereby posing questions and receiving hotline numbers for confidential help. We ended the program with a vibrant dancing competition and echoed praises to God for the success of the initiative.
