I joined esteemed members of the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum in Owerri, Imo on October 20, 2023, for a mentoring seminar themed, “Empower Her: Breaking Barriers & Building Careers for Women in Law”, to address the challenges and provide a platform for empowering women in their legal careers.

In my keynote address, I discussed the imperative of breaking barriers and empowering women in the legal profession. I also acknowledged the historical dominance of men in law, the challenges women face, the need for equal opportunities, and gender pay equity and advocated for policies supporting work-life balance.

Once again, I commend every mentor who led a coaching session, especially the NBAWF Chairperson, Mrs. Chinyere Okorocha, for her informative Plenary Session titled, “Career Progression for the 21st Century Female Lawyers: Pros & Cons”. When we emphasize the significance of self-belief among women in the legal community, we create an inclusive environment that celebrates their unique contributions to the legal profession.
