The unifying bond among the female staff of the colleges of Education, both teaching and non-teaching staff, in the National Association of Women in Colleges of Education (WICE) is a testament to the strength found in unity. They exemplify resilience, grace, and determination, demonstrating that when women support women, the possibilities are boundless.

Some Executive members from the WICE, Alvan Chapter, paid a courtesy call to my office on July 28, 2023. The Chairperson and spokesperson of the group Dr Mrs Lynda Chioma Ngozi - Olei appreciated the 3R Government for the move of restoration of the University status of the college and for what my office has been doing for the women, girls and vulnerable in the State. When she informed me of their upcoming 27th Annual Conference theme, “Digital Learning Innovation in Teacher Education in Nigeria” taking place at the Alvan Ikokwu Federal College of Education Owerri, from August 22 - October 28 2023, I was pleased to hear about the many planned activities which are geared towards making life better for the women and their children.

My office will do its best to support these extraordinary women on their collective journey.
