As the campaign for this year's World Breastfeeding Week draws near and various organizations begin to make plans, the Executive Secretary of Imo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Rev. Sr. Dr. Maria-Joannes Uzoma and her team met with me on July 17, 2023, to highlight their preparation for this year’s event.

During the meeting, the State Nutrition Officer, Mr Etienne Obidaa outlined the activities which include Road Walk, Baby show, training of stakeholders, advocacy for maternity and paternity leave, among other plans all focused on this year's theme, “Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a difference for working class ladies.”

I was truly impressed by the plans and objectives of this year's event and I look forward to seeing the impact their campaign will have in communities across Imo State.

Also present during the meeting were Dr. Okere, Dr. Uchegbulam and Mrs. Ukaegbu Stella.
