On June 26, 2023, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency @ndlea_nigeria (NDLEA) Imo State Chapter partnership with GoodHope Flourish Foundation @goodhopeflourish and Ministry of Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups @imostatemwa, organized a one-day workshop in commemoration of the @unitednations Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The Deputy Zonal Commander DDR NDLEA Zone L, Dr. Thompson Chinwe, emphasized the importance of parents and women in drug abuse management and prevention. A second lecture was taken by the Assistant State Commander (Operations and Training), Lamuwa Shehu.

The event also featured live entertainment and a Drug Exhibition, which thrilled the audience.

In attendance were, the Zonal Commander Zone L NDLEA, Sumaila Ethan ACGN; the Imo State Commander NDLEA, Abubakar L. Wali CN; the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology Owerri, Prof. Nnenna Oti, who was ably represented by Prof. Edna Mathews-Njoku; HRM Eze Dr. E.C. Okeke CFR and His Amiable Ugoeze, the Wife of the Speaker, Mrs. Chidinma Olemgbe; the Wives of Sole Administrators of the 27 LGA's in Imo State; the Wives of Members Representing Imo State at the House of Assembly; and female Government appointees.
