On Thursday, May 11, 2023, the Vice President of Nigeria, H.E. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo officially flagged-off the Hydrographic Survey and Dredging of Oguta Lake and Orashi River in Oguta Local Government Area, Imo State.

The dredging of the river will link Imo State to Degema in Rivers and to the Atlantic Ocean.

The project is in partnership between Imo State Government, the Nigerian Navy, and a consortium of technical partners and was initiated, approved and set in motion under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Hope Uzodimma.

I applaud my darling husband, His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma and the Shared Prosperity Administration for this giant stride.

I am optimistic that this will boost the economy, increase revenue, and spur further growth there by, increasing the number of work prospects for our people in the State and the region.
