The General Aviation Terminal held a get-together/thanksgiving and award presentation of the staff of Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport on May 4, 2023, to celebrate their members for their efforts in maintaining their reputation and excellent service.

At the wonderful ceremony, my representative, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, expressed my gratitude to the staff and management of the Airport for their relentless effort in ensuring effective service, quality delivery, and safety in the aviation sector.

I commend the first female Airport Manager of the SMICA, Mrs. Ndudinachi Ugochi Rejoice, for efficiently managing her team at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri. It takes an outstanding person to show such a brilliant level of excellence and she has exceeded in her role.

Thereafter, Hon. Ugwu received an award of "Committment to SMICA and Spurring Women to Grassroot Transformation" on my behalf, a recognition I am truly grateful for.

Present at the event were the first Airport Manager of SMICA, Chief Micheal Onyeacholam Egejuru, Mr. Hilary Umunna - the Airport Manager of Akanu Ibiam Airport Enugu State, Royal Fathers from the airport community, Regional managers and airport managers from South-South and South-East zones, top government officials and a host of other dignitaries.
