As the Eighth Edition of the Nutritious Food Fair (NFF), an event organized by the Global Office of Harvest Plus in Washington, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, the Federal Ministry of Health, and other collaborating development partners draws near, the Country Manager, Yusuf Dollah paid a visit to officially invite me for this year’s Food Fair which will take place in Owerri from November 18 - 19, 2022.
Members of the organization present shared their missions, goals, achievements within the organization from previous programs, their method of coaching and empowering students, women and finally the testimonials from trainees who went to work with the resources provided to them.
This year, their activities would revolve around the theme, “Improving Resilience through Nutritious Food Systems” to highlight the benefits of commercialization for both farmers and sellers to financially empower them in a way that boosts the agricultural sector of the economy.
The detailed plan and vision shared by the Harvest Plus organization in the presence of the Commissioner for Agriculture, Imo State, Hon. Dr. Barth Okorochukwu, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, among other officials were phenomenal and highly promising for a nation like ours with incredible farmlands.
The 3R Administration has always supported brilliant businesses with prospect and longevity and it will continue to do so for the benefit of its people and beloved State. I gave them my absolute support and promised to keep supporting them.
I was named Ambassador for Harvest Nutrition Plus in Nigeria for Imo State and felt truly honoured by their visit. I look forward to attending their upcoming event and seeing their plans come to fruition as time passes.
