On one of my unscheduled visits to hospital wards, my first port of call was to check in on baby Miracle and his family at Federal Medical Center, Owerri yesterday, to have a first-hand appraisal of their situation.

There I met with his mother, Favour Chikpe, and grandfather Mr. Ikenna Chikpe who hail from Idemili South, Anambra State but reside in Lagos State.

Listening to them retell the tragic experience the innocent baby went through in the hands of his abusive father, Mr. Confidence Amatobi was heartbreaking. The police have issued a warrant for his arrest and will ensure he faces the full weight of the law but most importantly, I pray for the physical and psychological strength of the mother to mentally recover and raise Miracle.

Thereafter, I went round the pediatric ward and stopped at intervals to interact with the adorable children while handing out some financial assistance to their parents/guardians for their welfare and wished them a quick recovery.

My final stop was to the female ward to see a patient from Isiala Mbano LGA who was involved in an accident on her way home from the Progressives Women of the Southeast rally. Thankfully, she is recovering well and would be discharged soon. I extended the love to her as well.

I was accompanied by the Imo State Commissioner WAVG, Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, Wife of the Speaker, IMHA - Mrs. Ijeoma Nduka, Wife of the Chief of Staff to IMSG - Engr. (Mrs.) Oby Anyaehie and key members of my team.
