At the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square Owerri, Imolites who gathered around to celebrate the Independence of our beloved country were reminded that the foundation of our nation lies in the collective strength and perseverance of its outstanding citizens.

We proceeded to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the independence of our beloved country, Nigeria, in a brilliant way that honored her past and expressed its hope for a Nigeria that will be restored to far better glory than the days of our forefathers.

Several groups varying from the Army-34 Artillery Brigade, Nigeria Air Force, Nigeria Police, Nigerian Army, National Youth Service Corps, National Union of Road Transport Workers, Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri Women Association, Girls Guild, Red Cross, among other Women and Men Associations gave honor to the country today by preparing a befitting parade.

As the Imo State Government continues to take further steps in carrying out the 3R Agenda for the advancement of Imo State, it remains optimistic that its citizens who are filled with the Nigerian spirit of patriotism and a sense of responsibility will aid her as we rebuild our State and Nation.
