Through my office, the wife of the immediate past IMC Chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA, Rev. Uchenna Okoroike initiated a program called “Operation Clean Environment, Healthy Family” which is aimed at improving the hygiene of our market environment.

The goal is to distribute hygiene materials ranging from waste bins, bowls, rakes, packers, pickers, waste bags, sanitizers, helmets, hand gloves and many more items to various markets across Imo State.

On July 23, 2022, my office and several Sanitary Inspectors and Nutritionists across the Local Government Areas kicked off this scheme with a rally in Isiala Mbano LGA Headquarters, Umuelemai, educating, encouraging and equipping the market women, women president generals, wives of former councillors and the market masters of all the recognized markets in the LGA.

My able representative, the wife of the former Interim Management Chairman of Oru West Local Government Area and ALGON Chairman, Mrs. Chizoba Okoliogwo, helped emphasise the dangers of an unkempt environment and urged those present to make cleaning a habit.

Once again, I want to commend everyone who contributed to the success of the first campaign, especially the wife of the immediate past Isiala Mbano Local Council Chair, Rev. Uchenna Okoroike, for leading the rally at the Amaraku market for open market sanitation.
