As women in several communities in Imo State and diaspora prepare for the annual August Meeting, Mrs. Chizoba Okolieogwo, the Chairperson of Oru West LGA, led the Imo State Local Government Chairpersons to my office today, to deliberate on the modalities of marking this year’s celebration.

We discussed activities to be carried out for the upcoming yearly practice to ensure the smooth-running of things. I requested the Chairpersons promptly co-ordinate with the relevant groups in their communities.

At the close of the meeting, I extended my appreciation for their visitation and commended the work they do behind the scenes for their respective Local Government Areas. Thereafter, I encouraged them to keep performing impressive works. I have the utmost confidence in stating that the State needs more courageous women like them.
