Upon my request, Chidera Ononiwu returned today, with his mother, Mrs. Ogechi Ononiwu. Mrs. Ononiwu shared how she had been under the weather for a while and unable to work hence the reason her children would have decided to help out thereby, hawking without her knowledge.
Before she left, I instructed her to visit the Government House Clinic with Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, the Imo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, in order to get proper medical check thereafter, share the results with me to ensure I foot her medical bill.
While we await her medical results, my office assisted her with adequate funds to start up a petty trade.
I further advised her son, Chidera, to remain focused as he prepares for his upcoming Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination (JSSCE). Additionally, I encouraged her to motivate her children to keep being good, law-abiding Imo citizens whose thoughtful deeds do not violate the rules and regulations of our society.
I pray that they, among other children, continue to grow in the wisdom of God to become upstanding citizens of our country.
H.E. Chief Barr. (Mrs.) Chioma Uzodimma First Lady, Imo State and Founder, GoodHope Flourish Foundation.
