On July 5th, 2022, the Imo State Government and several Imolites gathered at Landmark Event Center, Owerri for the 2022 Army Day Celebration to pay their respects to the husbands, fathers and brothers who dared to obey the clarion call and defend our people.

Upon the wonderful conclusion of the event, my dear husband, His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma @he_hopeuzodimma and I had a delightful time hosting members of the 3R Administration, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya, the Chief of Policy and Strategy, the Director Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Commander 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, Major Gen. Suleiman, and other Officers and Men of the Nigerian Army, to Owerri, the State Capital, during this week-long 2022 Army Day Celebration.

In his speech at the dinner, the Governor called for a deeper level of civilian-military cooperation, particularly in the South East of Nigeria. He requested they continue to share vital intelligence with other well-meaning security agencies, to ensure the overall security of Imo State.

Though the Nigerian Army has achieved a lot in overrunning insurgents and rebels, the 3R Administration believes the military still has a long way to go in eradicating the common misgiving civilians have, especially in Imo state. Our belief is that by winning the hearts and minds of the people, morale can be improved, trust will be built, and cooperation will increase.

The 3R Administration will always stand by our troops as they serve and protect it's people with pride and renewed vigor. We pray for God’s blessing on them, on our leaders and upon us as a nation. Amen.
