The grassroots work the Catholic Women Organization carried out in the past few years has helped shift the narrative that women are weak vessels to capable individuals who have God-given potential. For all their efforts in our community, it is only right that this accomplishment is recognized.

On Friday, June 17, the Catholic Women Organization held its 2022 Annual Seminar/Launching of the Catholic Women Organization Nigeria (CWON) at the Villa Mariae, Owerri. My representative, the Wife of the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Dr. Bola Njoku, helped convey my commendations on the impactful role they play in our nation.

In agreement with the words of the Chairman Board of Trustees, CWON, Mrs. Comfort Akpan, “the CWON is a unifying factor and rallying point for all the Catholic Women in Nigeria, tribes and tongues notwithstanding”. It is because of the work of organizations like this that our communities evolve and improve for the better. I celebrate every single member of the CWON and I pray your loyalty is duly rewarded by our Father in heaven.

The wonderful event hosted the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Group, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu @hon_nkechinyereugwu, the Member Representing Njaba State Constituency, Hon. Amb. Dr. Uju Onwudiwe, the Wife of SSG to @govtofimostate, Dr. Pat Iwu, Wife of Imo State Chief of Staff, Engr. Oby Anyaehie, President of Ohanaeze Women Wing, Chief Julie Egbo, Chairperson of Ideato North Development Centre, Mrs. Charity Nwankwo and many other officials.
