Yesterday, Tuesday, May 10th, 2022, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Group Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu on my behalf commissioned a newly built solar borehole in Okuku, Owerri West Local Government Area for the vulnerable people in the Okuku community.
Today, I applaud the Rtd. General Theophilus Danjuma and his committee of outstanding individuals for the work they have been doing since they collaborated with the Federal Government on the Borehole Initiative. Almost a decade later and this program has brought clean water to various vulnerable and rural areas across the federation.
Their collaboration with the Imo State Government has led to the creation of clean drinking water in learning institutions that cut across the three zones within Imo State namely; Comprehensive Secondary School Umukabia, Ehime Mbano; Central School Omuma, Oru East; and Central School, Okuku, Owerri West.
Once again, I appreciate every individual, especially the Chairperson of the Victims Support Fund, Barr. Toyosi Akinrele, the Schoolmaster at Central School Okuku, the PG and the leaders of the Community for their assistance in making the event a success.
