On day two of the National Progressive Women Conference @apcnationalwomenconference, I had the opportunity of joining my colleagues, the First Ladies of Nigeria to discuss how to redefine the role of women within the Nigerian political space.

As one of the panelists co-hosting today’s session in the company of the First Lady of Osun State, H.E. Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, the First Lady of Ekiti State HE. Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, and the First Lady of Ogun State H.E. Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, we were able to focus on reviewing ways to give women a better platform to be more visible.

Thereafter, the audience had breakout sessions in various rooms where newly elected officials, appointees, women leaders, first ladies, women stakeholders, and state delegates were addressed on leveraging their social capital for political and national advancement.

The incredible conference came to an end with prayers being offered for Nigeria and a closing remark by Hon. Stella Okotete. Altogether, I found the conference informative, educational, entertaining and I look forward to welcoming more women into the political space in the foreseeable future.
