My office extended the blessings of the Christmas season to the inmates of the Owerri Custodial Center on the 26th of December, 2021. While this season celebrates Jesus’ birth, it also brings to light the promise of God’s forgiveness and His deep desire to connect with us. In that spirit of hopefulness, my office promised to empower inmates with a track record of good or contrite behavior.

My representative, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Group, Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, encouraged the inmates to reflect on ways to make amends for their mistakes, as well *as* look forward to a significant life after their stay at the facility.

In attendance were the DCC Ejuka Marvis Clara, ACC Opara Kennedy, ACC Ijiomah O.S, all the Owerri Custodial Center, Staff of the Ministry, and some Executives of the National Council for Women's Societies, who ended the event in high praises, dancing, and prayers for the inmates. The Government of Shared Prosperity remains committed to the inclusiveness* of all Imolites regardless of their background and status in the society.
