Yesterday, the 25th of December, my office in collaboration with the Ministry Of Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups invited 15 different Orphanage Centers across the State to celebrate Christmas Day.

With over 150 children in attendance at the Children’s Recreation Park, opposite Heroes Square, Owerri, we initiated interactive games, exhilarating competitions, fantastic presentations, and other sporting activities to put a smile on their faces. Organizing this event was intended to give these children, irrespective of their status in our society, a sense of belonging, hope, and joy, especially in this festive season.

In the presence of the Director of the Child Department in the Ministry, Mr. Benjamin Amaefule, PRO of the ministry, other Staff of the Ministry, and Caretakers of the children, every child was well fed and entertained. It was the gifts shared by Father Christmas that made the event truly memorable.

It is my prayer and hope that these little ones, among many others, grow up in the way, wisdom, and protection of God Almighty.
