At the Grand Finale of the #2021ImoWomenAugustMeeting, Nzukọ Ụmụ nwanyị ọma, my office pledged to begin an empowerment scheme for Imo indigenes across all 27 Local Government Areas within the State. It is with great pleasure that through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, that pledge has been fulfilled.

Today, a total of one hundred and fifty pieces of Outdoor Barbecue Grill Stoves and Monetary Gifts were distributed to women from different groups across all 27 LGAs in a bid to complete Phase One of the Imo Women Empowerment Scheme.

In the next couple of days, we hope to distribute Sewing Machines, Grinding Machines and Hair Dryers to another set of women to complete Phases Two and Three of this scheme.

The goal of this empowerment scheme is to equip our women with essential appliances needed to establish thriving businesses within the community. As more women are given resources to start various businesses, their contributions to the community encourage these communities to thrive in phenomenal ways.
