My team and I have continued our outreach to vulnerable groups and the physically impaired in the State for the past few months. On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, we decided to pay a friendly visit to the inmates of Special School for the Deaf and Mentally Retarded, Orlu in Imo State.
We distributed food supplies for the upkeep of the pupils and staff members through the school's Headmistress.
This visitation was done to check up on the Management and Staff of the school who had articulated their needs for the center. I am glad their dedication to their members has not wavered.
From the report of the condition of the school, we have noted the needs and wants of the school and we will make it a priority to see that these needs are met. My prayer is that the good Lord continues to bless everyone of the staff members who continually care and assist the pupils in the school.
The vulnerable in our community are capable of so much if given the opportunity, therefore, it is one of the most important areas in the administration of the Shared Prosperity Government. We hope to continue to make our community as inclusive as possible for every of its citizens until every citizen feels heard.
