ACCEPTANCE SPEECH BY THE WIFE OF THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF IMO STATE, HER EXCELLENCY, BARR. CHIOMA UZODIMMA ON ACCEPTING THE ARISE AFRICA ACHIEVERS AWARD 2021 FOR HUMANITARIAN SERVICE OF THE YEAR AT GOLDEN TULIPS HOTELS, OWERRI IMO STATE ON JULY 24, 2021

Protocol

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen!

It is with great pleasure, I accept this important award for Humanitarian Service of the Year, placed in front of me by members of the Arise Africa Network.

This moment, this honor, this vote of confidence that has been bestowed upon me will serve as a reminder that there is still a great deal of work to be done for the people. I am grateful for all the very strong words of support and confidence from everyone who thought I was worthy of recognition in this field.

We are humans before the positions we hold, as such, we should know fully well that to deny our humanity is to deny our rights as humans. Our kindness and love for people should always come first. My office and I will always be open to working with organizations who provide healthy and beneficial opportunities to the community.

Advocating is one of the most important things in my life and will always be committed to it. Helping others is a remarkable feeling, but what is equally rewarding is finding people with a similar passion for serving. In honor of this award, I would like to recognize and commend the many departments that have collaborated with my office over the last year. As a result of their commitment, we have been able to serve various individuals, families, indigent and vulnerable people in our communities with accurate and necessary resources.

It is my goal to continue working side-by-side with various departments to ensure changes in our state are made, and to promote servitude and kindness. Despite all of the problems we face as a society, I would like to remind everyone to stand together, for what is a nation without its people? What is a community without unity? We, as individuals, will bring back the strength and progress our society needs.

Once again, I sincerely thank the CEO of Arise Africa Achievers Awards, Ikechukwu Anyanwu, the organizers of this event and for everyone who voted for me in this category. Before this Assembly of distinguished men and women, I promise to remain attentive to diverse communities and make sure they are well taken care of.
