In our continued effort to see to the welfare and the teaching/learning conditions of our school children, we visited some schools in Okigwe and Orlu zones on Friday, 25 June 2021.

This outing also concludes the activities outlined for the commemoration of the International Day of the African Child, 2021.

The team from my office was led by the Imo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, in the company of Mr. Benjamin Amaefule, Director of Child Welfare and Social Work.

Our first port of call was the Mercy Nursery and Primary School Okwelle, Onuimo LGA, followed by the Community School 2 and Community School 4, in Dikenafai, Ideato South L.G.A.

We received a warm reception from the school administrators, teachers and students as the interactive session was quite enriching. I noted that we're committed to leaving Imo children with great childhood and indeed, a wonderful future, charging them to be obedient to their parents and teachers so that their yearnings can be accomplished and they in turn, become great assets to our society.
