The August Meeting holds a special place in the hearts of Igbo women everywhere as they make the journey home to their communities to deliberate, develop, resolve, and rejoice together in the unbreakable bond of sisterhood. It is within this tradition that FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC launched its inaugural Three Crowns August Meeting in Umuorii, Owerri North LGA, Imo State, on August 15, 2026. I was represented at the event by Mrs. Nduka Ijeoma, wife of the Managing Director of the Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority, accompanied by Mrs. Doris Anukam and Mrs. Chidinma Ogbunikpa, wife of the member representing Okigwe State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly. The event was well attended, with all six traditional rulers from Uratta present alongside their Ugoezes, including ten women president generals in Uratta and the Vice Chairman of Owerri North Local Government Area. FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC was also well represented by its Marketing Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, and other members of the management team. Featuring intercommunity competitions, empowerment sessions on finance, agriculture, and health, alongside meaningful prizes and recognition for women’s rights, the Inaugural Three Crowns August Meeting reflects not distant admiration for our women, but a deliberate decision to stand firmly within our tradition and honour it. I commend FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC for choosing Imo State for the inaugural edition. This initiative complements the work we already have on the ground in the state toward the empowerment of our women, who truly deserve every recognition, investment, and celebration that comes their way.
