In advancing the cause and interventions of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), I joined my fellow RHI State Coordinators for a one-day state visit by Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and National Chairperson of the Renewed Hope Initiative, to Jigawa State for the launch of the North West Zone of the National Community Food Bank Programme. Framing the launch as a pivotal success, the First Lady emphasized that the programme’s success depends on sustained collaboration. She disclosed that since the flag-off of the National Community Food Bank Programme in Borno State in April, 560 beneficiaries have enrolled and 468 vulnerable children have been reached. She called for collective efforts to build a transparent, accountable, and efficient food bank system to support vulnerable households across Nigeria. Prior to the launch, the First Lady commissioned the new palace hall of the Emir of Hadejia, HRH Dr. Adamu Maje. During this visit, she announced a ₦100 million business recapitalization grant for 2,000 women petty traders in Jigawa State. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) nationwide, as empowering women entrepreneurs, particularly at the grassroots level, remains essential to improving household incomes and stimulating local economic development. While in Jigawa State, Her Excellency also inaugurated several key projects, including the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy (a tech hub facilitated by the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA), the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic and Dialysis Center (equipped with state-of-the-art dialysis machines), the Gandun Sariki Road, and the Hadejia-Garun Gabas–Dolan Kwana Road. #RenewedHopeInitiative #RHI
