‘Our Stories, Her Impact’ celebrated the Renewed Hope Initiative’s (RHI) three years of interventions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on June 23rd, 2026, at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja. I joined Her Excellency Sen. Oluremi Tinubu CON, First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, alongside my sister First Ladies and other distinguished guests, to mark an initiative through which over 27,000 FCT residents have benefited from RHI programmes. Speaking at the event, the First Lady stated that vision, discipline, and preparation are essential for success. She urged girls and young women to dream big and remain focused, noting that the initiative was established, among other things, to help girls build confidence, ambition, and character. She further encouraged young people to learn etiquette and protocol as preparation for future leadership opportunities. The First Lady urged beneficiaries to extend kindness to others, adding: ‘As you have been helped and assisted in one form or the other, do the same for a neighbour that we cannot reach, no matter how small.’ Reflecting on the initiative’s three-year journey, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON stated that the RHI was established to complement President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through people-centred interventions aimed at improving livelihoods and creating opportunities for disadvantaged Nigerians. Over the past three years, the RHI has delivered grants, educational materials, scholarships, skills acquisition programmes, healthcare interventions, and emergency assistance to women, youths, children, veterans, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
