The flag-off of the 2026 First Round Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Week on June 18th, 2026, at the Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Owerri, reflects our collective resolve to promote the health, well-being, and survival of our mothers, newborns, and children in Imo State. In accordance with the National Council on Health’s approval of the bi-annual MNCH Week, Imo State has consistently implemented this initiative since the inception of the 3R administration of my husband, His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, CON. This programme provides an integrated package of predominantly preventive and highly cost-effective interventions, which have proven incredibly effective in improving maternal and child survival rates. We appreciate the Imo State Ministry of Health, the Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ISPHCDA), and our partners, especially @unicef_nigeria, @vitaminangels, and @whonigeria, for working continually to support and amplify the impact of healthcare delivery across our dear state. We also encourage our mothers, caregivers, and families to take full advantage of the various healthcare services being offered this week at designated service delivery points within communities across the State. Early childhood development support, optimal nutrition services, immunizations, and regular check-ups are absolutely essential for a child’s healthy growth.
