To judges, justice is the weight of truth on a scale that never sleeps. To society, it stands as the definitive line between order and chaos, and between power and accountability. This reality was reaffirmed at the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) Africa Regional Conference, which I was honoured to attend today at the Body of Benchers Complex, Abuja. Themed “Promoting Excellence in the Administration of Justice,” the conference brought together brilliant legal minds to address the critical role of an upright judiciary. Indeed, our courtrooms are not merely spaces where cases are heard; they are sacred arenas where conscience speaks aloud and true fairness prevails. ​ Achieving this excellence demands a commitment to integrity, empathy, and the rule of law. I highly commend the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) for steering this vital dialogue, empowering women jurists to remain steadfast guardians of equity across the African continent.
