I joined my sister First Ladies in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, yesterday on the Renewed Hope Initiative train, led by Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, for the commissioning of the RHI-TETFUND ICT Experience Centre at Ekiti State University and the flag-off of Ekiti women’s campaign for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the June 2026 governorship election. As part of the state visit, we attended a meeting with the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers’ Council. During the session, the First Lady acknowledged the pain caused by insecurity but expressed confidence that the situation would improve, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to address the challenge. She encouraged Nigerians, particularly women, to remain hopeful and prayerful that current difficulties will soon pass. During the visit, the First Lady presented a ₦100 million Business Recapitalisation Grant to 2,000 women petty traders, with each beneficiary receiving ₦50,000 to support their businesses and families. This builds upon other impactful Renewed Hope Initiative interventions in the state, including scholarships, bursaries, educational support programmes, environmental initiatives, and distribution of sanitary pads to schoolgirls.
