Divine Mercy Sunday, the First Sunday after Easter, held special significance as my husband, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, and I welcomed members of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) to Imo State, as they worshipped with us at the Government House Chapel in observance of the ANPA - IMO Medical Mission 2026.
The Holy Mass marked a spiritually enriching commencement of this week-long medical outreach. The homily centred on the resurrected Christ’s encounter with Thomas the Apostle, illustrating how Jesus revealed His wounds not to condemn doubt, but to meet him at his point of need, transforming uncertainty into faith.
Following the Mass, ANPA members were hosted to lunch, marking the official commencement of the medical mission. Throughout the week, this partnership will deliver essential healthcare services to residents across Imo State, embodying the true spirit of Divine Mercy.
We remain profoundly grateful to ANPA for their dedication to advancing healthcare delivery in our State. #Sunday
