Day 2 of Project Flourish 200, the Imo State Female Students and Women Empowerment Programme of the GoodHope Women Flourish Initiative (GHWFI), continued with even greater energy and participation. The day began with a coordination meeting with our trainers and vendors where we reviewed feedback from Day 1 and reinforced the Foundation’s expectations on documentation, punctuality, and class coordination. I also introduced a special activity tagged “Bride Flourish.” Under this project, the students will be divided into four groups to prepare a bride for both a traditional and white wedding. Each team will showcase their creativity with a wedding cake, bridal hair and makeup, fascinators or veil, gele styling, and traditional beads. Training continued actively across all classes as the baking group prepared cakes and egg rolls, the makeup and gele classes practiced by working on one another, while the fascinator class produced beautiful pieces. Participation also grew significantly, with the number of students rising to over one hundred on Day 2, reflecting the strong interest among young women to learn and build practical skills. Our trainers have been incredibly committed, with many going the extra mile to accommodate additional students and extend their teaching time. It is inspiring to see the enthusiasm, creativity, and determination of these young women. Their passion to learn reminds us why initiatives like this matter. Together, we are raising confident, skilled, and empowered women.
